As November quickly approaches (wait, how did that happen), I am starting to take bookings for my Essential Oil 101 workshops.
Are you interested in learning what essential oils are and how to use them safely and effectively? Would you like to learn how to save money and make your own roll-on aromatherapy treatments? The holidays are also quickly approaching and DIY gifts are the greatest! Allow me to walk you through the different ways essential oils can be used on a daily basis and how to properly dilute oils for use on people of all ages.
If a workshop sounds like something you are interested in, please contact me today! Workshops can be a one on one experience, or even better, host a workshop, invite a few friends and receive a free gift of appreciation from me!
I look forward to having a fun filled learning experience with you!
I've been looking for a super simple way to make my own bathroom cleaner and ladies and gents, today I found it.
Adapted from a recipe I found from @livesimplymom - I quickly whipped up a batch and added essential oils to the mix to lift my cleaning mood and boost my cleaning power.
Here it is - your very own all natural tub and bathroom scrub (it works AMAZINGLY well I might add - just scoop out a bit and scrub away the scum with a cloth. Rinse and voila!
1 cup Baking Soda
1/4 cup Castile Soap
1 Tbsp Hydrogen Peroxide
15 drops dōTERRA Lemon Essential Oil
5 drops dōTERRA On Guard
(Feel free to experiment with your own blend and desired quantity of oils)
Combine ingredients in a bowl until consistency of toothpaste is achieved - transfer to jar with lid for storage and enjoy! Well, enjoy as much as you can while scrubbing nasty bathroom scum.
I've been feeling a little unstable lately - in the sense that I'm not feeling very rooted and Have been feeling anxious about my career, anxious about putting Baby H in daycare 3 days a week and also feeling disconnected from my true self and passions in life.
My trip to Tofino last weekend really helped as I spent a lot of time grounding myself through nature and I thought a lot about how I teach spinal series postures in yoga in order to "wake up" our spines and get energy flowing through our chakras. This led me to investigate which essential oils work best for each chakra and the desire to share these findings with others.
I will start with the Root Chakra (Muladhara) which is an energy centre located at the base of our spine - think tailbone. The Root Chakra governs our fight or flight survival instincts, our body and identity as humans, our relationship with material abundance and feelings of security. Signs of a blocked Root Chakra include a sense of not being grounded, anxiety, worry, confusion, distraction, feeling unsupported and possible feelings of anger or fear may arise.
Essential oils embody the healing properties of plants and their energetic frequency can assist with unblocking our chakras.
Oils specific to the Root Chakra include Cedarwood, Vetiver, Patchouli, Frankincense, Myrrh and Spikenard - interesting to note here that many of these oils come from roots or trees firmly rooted in our earth - hmmmmm... coincidence? I think not ;)
To use these oils to assist our Root Chakra, diffuse one or two of the oils in your bedroom while you relax or roll the oil on the bottoms of your feet or lower back while relaxing. The colour red is associated with the Root Chakra so wearing something red or imagining a healing ball of red energy can help during relaxation. Sitting quietly in nature and tuning into the sounds, smells and sights around you also helps get us rooted with the Earth.
Stay tuned for more on how essential oils can assist with our other Chakras.
